Ports O'Call
Little seaport shopping center where you can walk around, buy crap and eat from many
different food sources. Basically a tourist trap. You can take a helicopter ride of the
port (I think you still can). Just hope it doesn't crash into the harbor like it has so many
times before. Personally find the place boring and dull, probably because my mom used to
drag me down there all the time as a little kid.
Korean Bell
Big bell from Korea I think. Situated at Angels Gate park. Pretty killer view of the Pedro
coastline, and on a clear day Catalina Island looks like it's right there. The bell's
pretty damn boring if you ask me. It's just a big bell that sits there. Don't forget your
camera. But I'd forget the film.
Royal Palms State Beach
Rocky beach where locals surf and hang out. It's the picture on the front Pedro page. Not
much surf usually, but sometimes. Place sucks in the summer and on nice hot days. Sons of
Bitches charge like five bucks to go down to it. Locals all know the way around that, but
then you can't bring your car down there.
Sacred Grounds
Actually probably the coolist place in Pedro. Great big coffee house that is more like a
club. Good coffee, f that Starbuck's crap. Live bands of all kinds play here. Poetry and
open mike nights as well. The only bad thing is being the band playing here. The sound is
good but the audience are usually subdued or comatose. You think the coffe would make them
hyper or something. It's still a coffee house I guess.
Besides coffee they got lots of weird and unusual sodas and other
types of drinks. Lots of teens and pre-teens hang out there, so older people don't freak
out at the punks and weird looking kids okay. Mud ducks galore too. But sorry no alcohol, that's what Tommy's is
for down the street.
Busy Bee Market
You want a big ass sandwich that tastes pretty damn good. Screw Carl's Jr, these things get
all over the place when they're still in the freakin' wrapper. Eat one of these and you
won't be hungry all day. Eat two, and well you might develop some problems there. Best
sandwiches in town.
Pacific Dinner
Are you ready for some heavy grease? Good greasy breakfasts are served up here. The ideal
place to eat after a hard night of drinking. For some reason a hangover and grease really
go good together at this place.
Tommy's Yacht Club
Yacht Club my freakin' ass. How about Pedro dive bar, that is actually the most decent one.
And that's not saying much. Place where you end up for last call when you get back in town after having
a good time at a real place. For me it's a class reunion of the worst kind. See all those
losers in high school that, well are still losers. Just hope there's a lot of people like
you there for last call. If not could be an experience. Bar fights are not a rarity here.
But the bartender is a totally cool chick named V. So say hi to her if you pay it a visit, but
watch out fo Ohmi (oh my) her mom who owns the place. The place is really not that bad. Mike Watt can be seen here quite often drinking his Jim beam and sodas. Very good people that
Mike.
Harold' Place
Dive bar! Toothless women. Do I need to say more?
