Saturday afternoon and we arrive back in the capital Zagreb for another show, this time at the Saloon Klub. This show rocks baby. Small club, but the place is packed with wall to wall bodies. Tommy boy is missing thoughout the night, and we wonder just where the hell he's at. We all start pounding beers, except Tony, at around 4:30 at sound check. Just bored. John goes the extra distance and buys a bottle of Croatian rum and starts mixing it with coke. The show rocks pretty hard. John gets hit with a shoe during the first encore "Anti-Love Song" and totally munches a chord on impact. After the song he tells the unknown shoe thrower that he's gonna keep that shoe and that that person is gonna have to spend half a month's salary just to buy a new one. Ouch, John being the ass-hole he is all so proud of being. But then again he got hit with a shoe and complained that the damn thing sobered him up. Later after the show the kid, who's shoe hit John, apologized and said his friend's grabbed his shoe and tossed it on stage. John said he was full of shit, but admired his attempt to get his shoe back so he gave it too him and told him that your too stupid to even have a job to buy another shoe. John ended up buying the kid a drink and said he did so because he looked needy, and told the kid so.
Later Tom shows up about an hour after our set
and tells us that we've been invited to some party downtown. We get to
this resturant, bar, whatever the fuck it was, and there's a tone of people
and techno music just blasting. Party! Tom had hooked up with three chicks
that were waiting for him at this party when we walked in. So that's where
he was all night! John stolls over to the bar and bumps into the shoe throwing
kid from the show. John tells him to buy him a drink or he'll beat him
up and steal his shoes. John get his drink and the kid, well he got to
keep both of his shoes.
