One crazy Sunday in Slovenia. Our Van broke down
in the middle of farm country. No food, no beer nothing! I swear we had
cows walking around us and shit and nothing to eat. Well, we get the van
fixed (which was a real bitch to do on a Sunday!) and now we really have
killed out budget. No AAA out here baby! We get to the gig and hour before
show time and the club owner was freaking out. Well, we kinda overlooked
thinking of calling him and telling him so he thought we were flaking out
on them. No sound check or anything. And the place is packed. Another disco,
but tonight wasn't no 70's night, it was freakin' Slovenian punk night!
The placed was packed with punks! Holy shit, we're not really a punk band
you know. I hope some of them has heard our shit. So we freakin' decide
to change the set a little, not only because of the crowd but because we
are all just fucking pissed off from such a shitty day! Did I mention we
still had nothing to eat all day! So here comes the fun part, the kitchen
in the club is closed but the bar isn't. ALCOHOL!!! So since Tony doesn't
drink he's gets to really have an experience. John and Tone were drinking
during the set-up on stage that they were experiencing a nice buzz before
the show even started. The set was completely mixed up from the last shows.
Kicking it off with "Superslacker got the crowd going nuts (Oh shit now
they think we're a punk band!). They kept repeating the last line of the
last verse, "Fuck you!" back at us when the song ended. Oh English, the
universal language. We ripped though the set list playing most songs at
warp speed. The crowd ate it up. The set was kinda sloppy but fun and the
crowd couldn't even care. Three songs in Tone was fucked up and John was
right on his heels. The first song of the encore, Nirvana's "Molly's Lips"
came out of nowhere. John in his drunkin stuper just started playing the
song and Tone and Tony followed. The speed punk version lasted about a
minute and bottles were flying everywhere. John then did it again and started
to play Phsidomodo Pops "Frida". The guys followed, but at least this song
is one that they do from time to time. The crowd went insaine and there
were more people on the stage than the band! They sang every word and even
sang the ones John forgot! The band then ended the show with "Ruza" and
at the end of the song, with the room spinning, John fell to the stage,
taking the microphone stand with him and said "Hvala Slovenci."(Thank you
Slovenians) then let out a loud burp! It was a perfect ending to the less
than perfect day.
